Potsdam is a city of science. More than 10,000 of the 160,000 citizens of Potsdam work in scientific institutions in the Brandenburg state capital. In no other city in Germany are there more scientists per capita than in Potsdam. There are more than 40 scientific institutions located in the region.

The Brandenburg capital has all school types at all levels. Ample school choice and educational opportunitites are available to all children and adolescents.

Non-university institutions, companies and universities are well-connected. With its University of Applied Science, College for Sport and Management, Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and the University of Potsdam, students have a choice of outstanding and prestigious universities.

An exciting center for education, media and science is located in the city center. This education center 'Bildungsforum' offers Potsdam’s citizens various opportunities. Due to three institutions, (SLB,VHS, and WIS) moving into the center, combined offerings are now available under one roof.
