Schools
The Brandenburg capital has all school types at all levels. Ample school choice and educational opportunities are available to all children and adolescents. School-aged children can choose between 19 primary schools and two secondary schools with primary education. In addition there are nine primary schools and Waldorf schools which are independently operated.
Fourteen municipal as well as seven private secondary schools are available to transition to Secondary Level 1.
Children and adolescents with disabilities can go to regular schools or to one of five special needs schools. Vocational training is delivered in three advanced-level centers, one special education vocational school and additional vocational schools. The Municiple Music School ‘Johann Sebastian Bach’ offers arts education.

You can find three international schools in and around Potsdam. The Berlin Brandenburg International School in Kleinmachnow is an full-time English-language school with an attached boarding school for children ages 3 to 19. At the International Primary School in Ravensbergen, children are taught in German and English. The third international school is the New Grammar School Potsdam.
