Today the term ‘Media City’ is a synonym for everything that is going on at the long-standing studio lot in Babelsberg. About 1,750 employees are busy with film and media on this 46 hectare        area. Sixteen studios, 100 smaller companies and the television station Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) are located there. Feature films, animated productions, documentaries as well as television series are produced there.

Many popular television series like ‘Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten’ or ‘Schloss Einstein’ are produced in Babelsberg. The radio programs ‘Fritz’, ‘Radio Eins’ and ‘Antenne Brandenburg’ are on the air in the new broadcast center on the grounds of the Media City. East German broadcast history is preserved in the new archive building and ‘ARD-digital’ is produced in the ARD-Play-Out-Center of the RBB in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
