Film Festival 'Sehsüchte'

Sehsüchte is the biggest student film festival in Europe and the center of attention every year for hundreds of filmmakers from all over the world. Besides feature films, Sehsüchte shows and gives awards for documentaries and animated films as well. The categories children’s film, producer’s award and music video have also been added. The films are shown in the Thalia Arthouse Cinemas and at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and television studios in Potsdam-Babelsberg.

On the one hand, you can have a whole week experiencing cinematic discoveries or, on the other hand, the festival offers the opportunity for mutual exchange between filmmakers, experts and the public like nowhere else.

Panels and workshops invite you to discussion and, at the legendary Sehsüchte parties, one can dance until dawn – the varied supplemental progarm has a great atmostphere.

The festival is organized annually by the students of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF on their own initiative. It offers invited filmmakers not only a forum for theirs films, but also promotes mutual  exchange as well as the exchanges with prominent professionals from the film and television industries.
